Time to trade in your 1911s?

You know I don't remember my Springfield ever having a failure either, and that was with the gun knowledge and cleaning skills of a 14yr old kid.

Only reason I don't carry em is weight and size.

Wow someone who had a glock with problems. You hear about that how frequently as compared to 1911's? Come on I dont care what you carry but if you think your 1911 is anything more than an exception to a rule then you are doing yourself, and others, an injustice.
>>>> Look! what an assumption! My particular 1911's have never ever failed me in time of need. How is that an injustice? And perhaps, if any firearm would fail me just exactly how is that an injustice to others? Is it an injustice to simply have a favorite? I don't tell you what to carry or even to carry anything. And , having been around firearms since the early age of 6, and many, many shooters, I've got a lot more stories of failures on all kind of guns I know about, as I mentioned not just the Glock-21 but the much vaunted Colt Python failure I mentioned.

Like I said I dont care what you carry but expecting everyone who carries a 1911 to have the same outcome as you is irrational.....I dont know enough about revolvers to care/comment.

who in the hell stated that I was expecting anyone to do anything? You stated that I was doing an "injustice", now you're saying irrational for some imagined statement which I or others did not make. I also believe you said something about being dumb for preferring a particular firearm. WOW! Sounds a little bit like liberals when they try to tell others what they think they think or what they need to do, because liberals , as always know best............just sayin'

You're trying to convince me that 1911's are known for reliability. Please do continue....

Also, you're telling me it is a wise decision to choose a pistol KNOWN for reliability issues as an everyday carry/self defense weapon? That makes me a liberal for pointing out common sense?

I still haven't seen you comment on the question about 1911 vs polymer pistol in either of the world wars. If it was you what would you have supplied our boys with? Please please please say 1911.

>>>Go back & reread my posts, answer my inquires first, which you have failed to do so far, And please show me where I tried to convince you of anything! I'm reflecting upon personal experiences. Why do you think that in places like Florida they switched from revolvers to 1911's in certain LEO precincts. A bud of mine's dad was one of the pioneers in that move. They have since switched away NOT BECAUSE OF FAILURES, but because too many younger cops were too quick on the single action trigger. In fact I have presented stories of other failures of all kind of firearms, from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. The only thing that IS A FACT, is the notorious HISTORY of the 1911 which cannot be disputed. Perhaps 100 years from now, if the world lasts that long ( & with hardheads & liberals running the show, it won't) , some other type firearm will have the historic record of the 1911. and perhaps then there will be something newer competing for said record.

Umm why would I reply to your inquiries when mine were posed first? Thanks. They moved away from revolvers simply because of the single action trigger? You really think thats all it was?

Youre right the notorious history as a great firearm in its heydey but there are without a doubt better and more reliable firearms out there now. Are you disputing this?

Once again my questions stand and I will wait for you to answer them but it seems as if you are too ashamed to do so.

To summarize:
I asked questions first you can answer first.
1911 or polymer for our boys in wwi and wwii which would you pick? You seem to enjoy skirting this question.
You are still denying that 1911's are NOTORIOUS for reliability problems compared to modern day firearms.
By telling me that I am wrong you are trying to tell me to convince me simply from YOUR experiences while dismissing the other thousands as anecdotal....
