72 Jeep pickup the gears were so low when you run 55 mph sounded like the moter was gonna blow up.butt it was a tank in the woods.View attachment 7308296

I had the same truck...a J10. Never used 1st gear...it would red line the engine at 5mph in 1st..true granny gear. That truck was indestructible.

Truth be known, I commented using the "Pinto station wagon" as an example because that’s what I was driving when my first wife left!

Looked pretty much like this one…. plaid seats and all…. manual transmission…. but at least it did have air conditioning! (South Fla)

There's nothing better than getting paid to look out the window....

Datsun Honeybee. I bought it immediately after seeing a ad in the paper.
$2100+ out the door.
Hilarious, that was the last brand new car I ever bought.
Used car guy ever since.

I had one of them things…. air conditioning and a radio were the only options…. no carpet…. just rubber floor covering…. my wife said it was “urine yellow”…. her dad actually bought it from us and drove it for about four years…. gotta say outside of changing the oil, it was pretty much maintenance free…. but then there wasn’t much that could break on it either….

I can remember my Mom coming home with a Datsun B210 that looked just like this one. Prior to that she always drove huge Chevy boats (Impalas, Caprices) so it was funny seeing this large woman is such a small car. It was not to last and soon she was back in a car that better fit her.
