To Those That Do This

I've been turnt loose way more times that I've been ticketed. Having your shyte together (license, registration, plates tagged, current insurance card) and a polite attitude carries a long way.
It sure can. The officer also needs to reciprocate. I can tell you more times than not, there are other things going on as well. Wanted person, stolen car, stolen gun, drugs, no ins. you name it

The last time I got pulled over he let me go with a verbal warning.

But he had pulled me over because of my multicolored mini Christmas lights wrapped around my fake reindeer antlers. He said I couldn't have red and blue mini lights because someone might think I was impersonating the Police.

I said "man if someone pulls over for a 1992 Jeep Cherokee with reindeer antlers and Christmas lights then they're an idiot. But I'll turn them off."

That is ridiculous.

That is ridiculous.
It was the third year I ran them. I had passed by many, many LEOs with no problem, but this guy was young and zealous for the law. Probably a recent academy grad.

Gave me the old "I know it's ridiculous, but the law is the law, what can I do?" speeches.

I run clear lights on the antlers now; after all, I've been warned!

To my immense shock, no. And I certainly deserved it.

Being respectful and courteous apparently can still get ya somewhere. I also haven't been pulled over in about a decade so that also may have helped sway his decision.
Being respectful does help a lot. About 20 years ago I had just purchased a nice and noisy 91 mustang 5.0 and the very next day a GSP crossed over in the grass on 278 to come and pull me over for speeding. Coincidentally I didn’t even have my license on my because I just went on lunch and left my wallet at the house. I had mentioned to him that I have never even had a ticket before and that I just got this car and as he was walking back to his car he was like “well you are gonna get one now!”. The whole time tho I was respectful and calm and even told him all my info including my license number. I guess the lord made him calm down while running the info in the car and he came back and just gave me a warning. I thanked him and the lord and went on my way. Politeness and respect goes a long way with police.
