I'm also concerned about the weight of these as carry weapons. Any input there from first hand experience would be beneficial too.

Torn between P220 and P229

My P226 is pretty heafty, but it doesn't bother me. I like the weight of it actually

I've carried a P229 SAS II with a short SRT in .357SIG for 3 years now in a good IWB holster. You get used to it and the SRT is a great trigger setup. With an extended +2 mag, you can carry 14+1 of .357SIG or .40. 9mm is 13 rds standard, and there is probably a plus 2 as well. The plus 2 mags are a little harder to conceal as they add length.
If I was running .45ACP I would not hesitate for one moment to pick up a P227 carry, and it's on my short list regardless because one can never have too many Sigs. They also have a 14rd extended mag available but there are some reports of issues with those mags.

I have gone from a P220 Carry to a M11 recently.
MecGar makes 15 round 228/229 mags that are flush fit. Plus, when you buy a 226, you can use your 226 mags in the 229.
The 228/M11 is lighter than the 229 (folded slide vs. machined stainless), but otherwise the same dimensions.
I'll second of third the SRT trigger. I bought one off here for under $40 and it installed in about 10 minutes.

I believe the flush 15 rounders are 9mm only.
Agree on the M11 weight/slide as a plus. Sure do like the balance of my stamped/folded W. German P226's.
