Transmission help.

I have a 96 GMC K1500 suburban. My tranny is slipping in 3 and OD. I have replaced many of these, but that was when I worked at a shop and we had lifts and tranny jacks. I need help finding a shop in the North Georgia area, near Ellijay that does transmissions and is reputable and trust worthy. I am thinking of a Jasper Engines rebuilt tranny for it. Does anyone have any recommendations of shops or rebuilders?

My son had his transmission go out just this past spring while in Blue Ridge for a week. He had it towed to Tri County. They had it rebuilt and back to him before he was coming back home.

Glad to hear it!! Joe is as good as they come, He is what so many should be..He takes pride in what he does, and does not cut corners..Is he the cheapest? Hell no but I will put my word behind him. You get what you pay for,,Nuff said

I called him and was quoted what I thought is a very fair price. I have to get the beast there now.

True story, I have known Joe for 35+ years and was there when both of his daughter were born and when they got married..I have seen him fix minor repairs for people, that had been told by another shop the needed an overhaul. That is integrity, honesty, and pride..Hard to find these day's.

Thanks for the heads-up, but it would cost a small fortune to have the Tahoe towed to Blue Ridge from Rossville...
