I tried it. bought a 12 dollar neodymium magnet with a hook, bought some garage door cable connectors (wired loops with braided cable) and zip tied it together

I tried first at Piedmont park with little success. gonna try again in a few other spots.

anyone else ever try this?

Need a kayak and a trolling rig...get off the bank, magnet fishers have beaten them to death. ...get you about 6 or so on about 30-50 feet of rope and a piece of pipe and space them out so you can sweep.

Me and my son have done it a few times. Caught lots of nails, bottle caps, fish hooks, lures, and a ball point pen. It’s good father, son time but I don’t think we will be opening a treasure store anytime soon.
