Truck Market crashing?

Can't see buying any Ford -- from AI Google

Ford issued a record-breaking number of safety recalls in 2025, surpassing any previous full-year record for an automotive manufacturer. By mid-July 2025, Ford had already issued 89 recalls, which is more than any other automaker in a full year. By August 2025, the number of recalls had reached 103, according to Kelley Blue Book.

I drive a Honda truck (Ridgeline AWD) because I only need a truck a few times a year and want something that drives like a luxury SUV without the price the rest of the year. I'm not trying to show off with a lifted 4x4 that blows black smoke on command.

Exactly why I bought a BN Maverick Lariat Tremor 4WD last year. Downsized from F150 super crew that takes 5 acres to park with an empty bed 99.9% of the time.

I would like to buy , mine has 238,000 miles on it but I always say price is what you pay, value is what you get.

I dont see the value at this point.
I just put a new transmission in my 94. This makes it's 4th since new. Even if I could get over the price of a new one, I still can't stand the junk they're trying to sell

Same here. My current vehicle has 163,xxx miles. I want a truck or large SUV they're just all pieces of ****e compared to pre covid vehicles. I just cant bring myself to buy a $60,xxx vehicle and it be a turd the day it runs out of warranty.
You'd be lucky to get to drive it that far from all the things I've heard

I'm stealing this.

I've seriously considered trading in my 2021 Ranger 4x4 because I think I could get a ton out of it (got a lot of equity in it), but then I realize I would be paying a stupid amount for a new truck that probably isn't as good as the one I have now (that 4WD has come in handy for me several times the past 2 years).
Precisely why I drive my old stuff. Paid for a long time ago, better built and probably more dependable. And for sure less expensive to repair

Hate to beat a dead horse here, but maybe I can learn something. Why do people continue to buy the trucks that are going to break down (Ford) and not the trucks that are more reliable.
You'd have to ask them. I own one of each of the big three. Older mind you, but they've been good trucks for the most part. My newest one is 21yrs old. Oldest 32yrs old

It's between Ford and Toyota. I wouldn't mind a Tacoma, honestly, but I do like Ford and I grew up in a "Ford" family, more or less.
Same here on the Fords. If I was going to buy, I'd look for an older truck in real good condition. No way I'm buying the junk they're selling now. Not for price or build quality. Not to mention, I just don't drive that much anymore
