trying to get a shed/carport built

I'm trying to get a 32x28 monitor style building. Dealing with the place in Jackson and they have been good so far. I live in the city of Stockbridge. Paid for a permit so was trying to do the 'right' thing. It's going over a bed of gravel. Metal roof. 3 sides and front open. Tons of emails back and forth with planning an zoning. Cleared everything until it got to them. So much crap saying we would have to have a extension from current driveway to it. That's out of the question. Told them the lower drive(gravel) is where it will be placed.(they say im out of compliance with a 2nd drive that's been there for 32 years.)
Anyone ever put up something like that and had the code people flag it or be told to take it down? I'm curious what the fine would be?
For the record, I live on a street with 75% metal carport/pole barn type buildings. Non HoA. Meth trailerpark behind me.
Mostly venting but I would listen to opinions. thanks
my daughter wanted a pool in her front yard area and the zoning/planning commission said the county/city code didn't allow it. We went to their county commission meeting with pictures of their Mayor's pool in HIS front yard and all of a sudden they got approved to have a pool where they damn well wanted it. Screw a bunch of politicians! Had another county tell me I had to have another site survey to repair a wall on a house. Paid 500 dollars to a man (at his request) and the requirement went away.......just like he said it would.

Crooks.....

How the F*** is it that the government can tell private property owners that they can't build a shed or storage building on their own property a nice looking addition to the Homestead, but they won't do a g---d--- thing when a bunch of Latinos move into a RENTED house, park 7 running cars on the property PLUS 14 abandoned / salvage / project vehicles along with a commercial landscape truck and trailer, skid steer, a dump truck, and an ambulance converted into a mobile taco truck ...all in a nice residential neighborhood??
2 words, special interest.......

I wouldn't want to take that chance and have to tear it down
I’d roll the dice…f’em. I’ve taken more expensive chances. I’ve worked with those a’holes most of my life doing commercial building. Power does strange things to some of them and others are good as gold.
