Tung vs Linseed oil

Gotta couple of old mil surplus stocks to clean up and wanna give them a little more shine. Was gonna clean them with mineral spirits or lacquer thinner and finish with tung oil or linseed. as far as i read tung oil is better moisture protection are there any advantages to linseed?

Tung Oil works well if you let it sit for a few days in a dry area.

plain oils dont give you much moisture protection. If you wood is going to get wet, or be outside you need something more. I like a poly/oil blend.

mix either with some poly 50/50 for a very easy to apply, rich and protective finish.

Wipe it on, wipe it off, let it dry to tacky, apply next coat.

I've always used the linseed oil and never had an issue.

If you want old skool stinkola use boiled lindseed.

Each has it's own advantage and disadvantage. I prefer pure BLO as it doesn't take forever to dry ling PTO, nor does it leave a shiny finish like PTO does.
