I just got permission to hunt close to a hundred acres of private. The landowner said he doesn't care what I do as long as I keep gates closed and don't bait. He's concerned about drawing hogs. It's free so I'm going to be sure and follow his directions. I never hunted private land back before corn was allowed, though. So I have a question.

How late in the year were you allowed to sow wheat without it being considered baiting? This is in Upson county.

Food plots are not considered baiting if you follow normal agricultural practices… do you plan to disc and plant or simply broadcast.

I kill weeds with herbicide and broadcast. No discing.

Wheat will germinate on concrete so you're probably good to go but it's not going to be the best food plot attractant. Pennington has a throw and grow blend that might suit your purpose better than wheat.

This is Georgia, just go hunt. There are deer everywhere. Scope it out hunt different places till you get the deer figured out. Just takes a little time. Then you'll have a great place to hunt for as long as it last

Hate to tell you, but you’ve already got pig!
And lots of pigs, there are pigs everywhere in Ups county! So I would not spend any money on anything except for some cameras see what’s there no no reason to disturb them if they’re there already

On a place that small, you're gonna be looking at transient deer passing thru.

I'd skip the round up and planting anything, just find the areas and trails they are already using in their travels, and climb a tree or set up a couple stands.

Don't over-complicate it, just be where they already are.

100 acres of free hunting is a gift nowadays!
