Unpopular firearm opinions / stir the pot

Any gun 'may be needed some day'.
That's one reason why folks buy a gun.
Truck gun being cheap doesn't mean it lacks quality.
Means if it gets stolen from your truck you're not out much $.
Hi-Point is relatively cheap and also known to always go Bang.
Rolls around under seat real good, big enough to be easy to
find in a cluttered glove box. Can also be used as a tire chok
if need arizes.
Sure, if you have a new $50K truck more likely you'll want an
expensive truck gun to go with it. But if you're riding in your
1990 F-hunert w/300K miles grand dad's ole snub nose w/a
cracked handle might be your speed. On the other hand if
you're still driving your old clunker truck you can probably
afford a Dan Wesson 1911 just from what you save on 1 yr's
truck in$urance. Guess the short version of this would be:
It's Your Truck and Your Truck Gun. Don't Like it You Can Walk.

1. Hipoints aren't reliable. Just stop.
2. Having a loaded firearm rolling around on the ground or jambed up in a cluttered glove box with a lot stuff to get caught in the trigger is a horrible idea.
3. I never said it had to be expensive. I said it needs to be quality. Just so happens that quality tends to go along with higher cost. At least higher cost than cheapest thing you could find on a gun shelf. Plenty of quality and relatively inexpensive options out there. Glock, cz, canik, sig 320, etc. Same for rifles and shotguns. Hell, glocks are so popular because they are uber reliable and inexpensive
4. A truck gun isn't the only thing I was talking about. But people constantly talk about how the cheapest gun they own tends to stay in their truck or trunk. The likelyhood that if you need a firearm is exponentially higher on a firearm that you constantly have with you than the one that sits in your nightstand or your favorite range toy.
5. Potential cost of a stolen firearm shouldn't outweigh a person's value of life.
6. Not the wisest idea to leave a firearm in your vehicle in general.
7. I would never trust my life to a 1911. Especially one that gets abused and neglected. That's not their bread and butter.

If you bought yourself a $1500 handgun and bought your wife a $150 handgun, you are either a jerk, or a genius.
What's mine is hers. Yada Yada Yada. I tell her any gun I buy can be hers. I also know that she doesn't care, so I'm not in danger. My biggest concern would be having to feed her guns ammo if she shot as much as I do. Lol
