UPDATE 10/3 - Injunction covers all FPC members - ATF publishes their pistol brace rule

Do you have a 1st gen Extar? I have a 2nd gen that came with a smooth buffer tube. They provided a blade brace that was not attached for me to decide whether to use or not.

I have the first gen and it was harder to get than World Series tickets. All that waiting for the email and being ready with your card number and ****. I was finally able to order mine when they changed over to the gen 2 style . I talked to a nice lady at Extar that told me to email about buying the old style. That's how I scored mine.
When I unboxed it I was kinda concerned about all that plastic. Even the trigger group is plastic. I will most likely replace it with a milspec metal trigger group. But I've owned it for nearly two years and still ain't fired a single round through it. Not worried though because all the reviews I watched were positive.

So can I use the kiosks in my gun store for fingerprints for this? They’ll charge me to use it correct?
If it's a silencer shop kiosk you are talking about you can register on it and put your finger prints into the system. Once in, you can then go to silencer shop.com and request a copy. They will mail them to you for nfa stuff. You have to mail them in within 10 days of the brace form 1 SBR application along with a coversheet, or just get em the ol fashioned way and mail those in. I don't think the gun shop will charge you for that. The copies are $15 from silencer shop

I'd put money on the free form 1s there will be no way to remove it from the registry like the traditional ones. Its basically saying it was NFA when it came to you, you didn't create it, so you can't remove it. What a crock.....

Good info here. However... NONE of it should be necessary.
