UPDATE 10/3 - Injunction covers all FPC members - ATF publishes their pistol brace rule

Lets say someone goes out this week and buys a lower with a pistol brace on it. Can they register it as an SBR or are they out of luck because they did not own the lower before the 13th?

Has anything been published in the federal register to make any of this official yet? As long as you own it prior to the publication in the federal register it would be eligible for the tax exempt sbr registration. Personally I would want to be sure the lower was in my name on a 4473 prior to the publication to if it was a sudden purchase that could be tracked.

*I am not a lawyer and none of this is legal advice but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.*

This is what I was thinking too, and I have been trying to find a decent lower specifically for this purpose.

If I had any others, they would go back to plain, simple pistol tubes untill the dust settles on this mess.

If you want to pick one up quickly Cherokee Gun & Pawn and Truprep usually have a good selection and prices.

Maybe cmshoot cmshoot can chime in on what the inventory is at Truprep and he is one of the most knowledgeable people I know on the AR platform if you want any help building your setup.

Not sure how much of the 922r part has been covered, this thread has grown some legs, lol. I know many members own a CZ scorpion (and similar imports), and this 922r is going to bite a few in the azz if you try to form 1 it, from what I gather.

From what I can tell, if the gun was purchased with a brace and didn't meet the 922r requirements, it will need to be surrendered or destroyed, no other options. Anybody have a better understanding that says otherwise?

We’ve got more lowers than you can fit in the bed of a pickup.

That's good news. I was planning on visiting this weekend, but I may decide to come sooner rather than later. I'll check the website tonight. Is the inventory online up to date?

For the most part, it should be up to date on lowers. The majority of what we have are Aero Precision, Spike’s Tactical, Anderson, and Sharps Bros, but we also have Centurion Arms, Wilson Combat, KE Arms, 17 Design, and several more.
