You could also cross state lines with a braced pistol vs risking pound you in the ass jail time if you didn't notify the ATF when taking an sbr across state lines. I'd say the latter is asking the crown for permission more than the braced pistol.

I don’t fault folks for going the brace route instead of the Form 1 in the past. While I always went the SBR route, I do get folks not wanting to pay $200 and go through the process.

What cracks me up is folks that use a brace because doing an SBR is “licking boots”, or somesuch. Unless the user genuinely prefers the brace to the wide selection of stocks available today (I haven’t met that guy yet), going with a brace is still submitting to the governments authority. Hell, completing a 4473 is submitting to the government’s authority.

I agree that the entire process is BS. Everything that the government does in regards to firearms is BS. I believe that it shouldn’t be legal to prohibit felons from owning firearms; that’s an infringement. Age limits, having to complete paperwork, regulations regarding select-fire, SBR’s/SBS’s, etc.…….they’re all infringements.
