*UPDATED* Adventure Outdoors Core15 AR Special Order

JustAGoodOleBoy - congratulations. I was so close to ordering that rifle yesterday - even by phone without having ever heard of TruPrep before this thread on ODT. By the way, when I last spoke to AO, they implied that my "refund" was in fact just a credit ("you can use it towards any other gun in the store"). I explained that I expected a cash refund if I claim it. Looking forward to some more stuff to arrive at TruPrep. By the way Dondon, I'm also waiting on a FN FiveSeven on special order. Any chance you can secure one of those too? :)

I actualy spoke to someone on the phone at AO and they confirmed they are selling on gunbroker "unoffically" . A friend wbo special ordered a Sig 516 in black spoke to them a week ago and they confirmed they received 5 and told him he was 7th. When he called kn Tuesday to confront them about the ones for sale on gunbroker they put a manager on the phone. He said they had found a few but were at a higher price and didn't think customers would want to pay the difference so they decided to se them on gunbroker. That is wrong.

BTW, they have 5.7 for sale on gunbroker right now.

This is disgusting. If this is what is happening, they are effectively using our money to finance their inventory with no intention of delivering us the items we purchased - at least until they don't have anyone willing to pay a higher price. I don't understand the belief that customers wouldn't be willing to pay the higher price, because they put that on the receipt (after you have paid) that you are subject to price fluctuations imposed by the manufacturer.

I've just started spending some time looking at the Governor's Office of Consumer Protection (http://ocp.ga.gov/) and the Better Business Bureau (http://www.bbb.org/atlanta/business...etail/adventure-outdoors-in-smyrna-ga-6005263). With respect to the OCP, it appears to me that if several of us can pool our facts, that this practice (if it is occurring) would merit a complaint. As for the BBB, AO has 4 complaints in the last 3 years, 3 of which were in the last 12 months. If anyone is interested in sharing more detail, please PM me. If you haven't yet done so, please post here so any one of us can point AO to this site.

I hope AO is reading this - I've been patient, but don't take me for a fool. I may not practice anymore, but I'm still fully licensed in Georgia as an attorney and I have no problem spending an inordinate amount of time to take care of this problem.

dude that is awesome, i say do it. I firmly believe you reap what you sow, short term success is exactly that. Short term. What disgust me most is the total lack of interest and service to their customers.

Ive always disliked AO for their customer service and was so happy when Academy in Hiram opened up but the only reason i Special Ordered from them was because it was post panic and they were the only ones i knew of at the time that were even taking orders.

F-wow, I have a friend I need to talk to, he might be able to give some "ammo" in your fight. He got waaay screwed by AO, from the story he told me. I'll see if he will PM you after I talk to him.

While I am disgusted with the way AO is treating special order customers I do want to give credit to one local dealer that still believes in customer serivice. A friend of mine that ordered a rifle through AO went to Howard's Pawn in Macon yesterday. They had the same rifle that he ordered for sale on their shelf. They were asking a couple of hundred more for the rifle than what he paid at AO. He explained his situation to the salesman at Howard's and how he is getting the run around from AO and how they are selling customer guns on Gunbroker broker. He showed the guy at Howard's his receipt from AO and they agreed to match the price on their in stock rifle. They even let him buy some ammo at a discounted price.

I am glad to see that good customer service still exists. Unfortunately they don't have the same rifle I ordered from AO or I would try to do the same thing.

This is my first real post as member but i have used this site numerous times. I know im not alone when i say that im not a huge fan of Adventure Outdoors, but i special ordered a Core15 from them on 1/26, mainly because im just tired of searching and running to diff shops to find a reasonalbly priced AR. I was actually pleased with the overall service and supply of most ammo/guns besides the usual looks and greetings of "you look like a young kid who dosnt plan on buying squat". Gun cost me $985 up front tax and all and will do the paperwork when the rifle comes in. Im just wondering if anyone else has special ordered an AR from AO, maybe even a Core15 and how long did it take for your rifle to arrive. they told me at least 30 days possibly even 60 or more but i have a feeling that they deal with C15 directly being that they are located in FL. just my hunch. Oh and if you want aluminum 30rd AR mags for $24.99. Core15 has them in stock right now on their site, better hurry

Well I've been seeing AR's everywhere here in Atlanta for like 750. Bull's Eye in Lawrenceville had a DPMS and Bushmaster for $749.99. Academy Sport have been getting Smith and Wesson M&P 15's for $759.99 regularly the past couple of weeks. Yeah I don't believe you should have to order any weapon from anyone. If they have it in stock, buy it. If not, wait and it'll be there. You're gonna be so pissed when you start seeing them for $699.99 and $749 regularly now. I was at the gun show today in Forest Park and even they had AR's for $750. Sorry dude. I try to post when I see AR's for a good price. Wish you could have saw one of my posts before having to wait maybe 60-90 days for your AR. But, you'll love it when you get it.

Just my $.02

They had a core 15 on the shelf at AO on Friday. They were showing it to a guy then proceeded to show him a hand built John noveske with a specialty made magpul moe hand guards made especially by mr noveske himself. Haha. But yeah, they had a core-15 or 4 in stock.

They always have at least one as a floor model, but won't sell it. Last I checked I had moved up some on the list but I got so tired of it, I actually bought one on GB on Thursday. Got a slightly better model and add ons, for about the same price. Supposed to arrive tomorrow at the LGS!
