Me too.....that was my worry with the reduced power hammer spring, but several forum reviews indicated zero problems with light primer strikes after several hundred rounds fired. Even shooting reloads. I guess we'll see. The way this thing shot before, I would never have shot several hundred rounds through it. Too painful and abnoxious.
Had one of these and tried to love it. It functioned great and completely forgot I had it on me sometimes because it was so small but I always had a nagging feeling that if the SHTF I wanted my 1911 on me instead so I sold it to a buddy who carries it EDC. He loves it.
I am curious how your upgrades improve the gun. Those weren't available when I had mine. Keep us posted.
Got to swing by the range today and try her out. I am very pleased with the modifications. I think she's a keeper now. The trigger has a nice smooth and solid feel. It allows adjustment of the overtravel and a little takeup adjustment, but the lcp is still going to have a good bit of takeup by design. The reduced power hammer spring greatly reduces the trigger pull. I dont have a gauge, so I'm not sure exactly how much it improved, but its obvious. I fired 60 rounds of Georgia Arms reload with no light strikes. The 13lb recoil spring kit made a noticeable difference in felt recoil. The lcp will never have a trigger like a 1911, but it is much more controllable and comfortable than it was before with these mods. I was shooting nice tight groups today, when before, I was lucky to hit the paper. Some guys aren't comfortable with modifying a factory weapon, but I have yet to own a weapon that couldn't be improved with a little polish here, a lighter or heavier spring there, etc. So I'd say, if it's not outside your comfort zone, go for these mods on the LCP. I couldn't be happier with them.
I have one with a stainless BT guide rod and 13 pound wolf spring and it drastically improved performace as well as steadiness. I am curious if you think the trigger spring and new trigger makes a difference.
I read that the SS guide rod was more of a longevity mod than anything. It allowed you to run more rounds through the LCP and it stay reliable since the stock guide rod was so flimsy. IDK, I sold mine after about 150 rounds.
Gotcha....glad I did it then, because now I think the little LCP and me have a future together. I sold the useless little laser that came with it so these upgrades were nearly a wash. Great trade off.
