Value of Marlin 30-30 stainless

I have a friend selling one and I'm thinking of buying but don't really know the value, I know it's in great shape. Just want to know a good value of it in very good used condition.

Mostly depends on if it is a JM gun or not.

What is a jm gun?

JM marked on the barrel where it enters the receiver will indicate that it was made by Marlin before Remington took over. Those guns carry a premium.

This gun is only a few years old I'd say 6-8 at most
