Vepr 7.62x54r New range report UPDATE

Nice shootin'!

Notice any affect to the groups as the barrel warmed up? My PSL is supposed to lose accuracy when hot due to the pencil-thin barrel but the VEPRs are supposed to have heavier barrels.

I did notice a little but not like my dads psl his once it gets hot it looses all of it fun factor. But at 100 I would say it started to hit a little more random within less then an inch up down left or right of center. So not horrible.

I saw you mentioned a spam can but any idea of what type of ammo it was? If it's just the typical $99 a can surplus, it was never intended to be super accurate. I don't know that you'd ever be able to tell if the barrel's temp is affecting the accuracy while using these rounds. If you're getting any where near 1 moa with surplus ammo, that's something in itself to celebrate!

My M77 308 gets 2.5 moa with iron sights 100 yds. $500 rifle.

The Zastava M77, OPAP, and M91 have all been built in factory at Zastava and test fired & sighted. Unlike the commercial VEPR. CAI doesn't build them. CAI built the older Yugo rifles from parts kits and assembled them. Also the M91 is not the first Yugo to have CL. All 5.56 Yugo's have CL barrels.

VEPR's are great, so don't take this as VEPR bsshing.
