Hey, I'm taking my "learn to ride" class pretty soon. I'm looking for a bike (cruiser or adventure bike) for real cheap. I don't care if it's perfect as long as it's reliable enough for a new rider. My biggest issue is I can't scrape together more than $1k cash. I have guns I can throw in and those will be up for sale shortly, but I just can't afford to spend more than a thousand cash and still buy all the gear required. On the same note I'm also looking for cheap gear so if anyone has any size medium jackets they don't need anymore then I'm in the market.

I saw the Buell and it's just not what I'm looking for. And I know they provide one for the class, I'm looking for one after the class.

Might check CL for a Virago, plenty out there and very reliable wit ha bit of regular maintenance. $1k can find a decent bike, but you'll have to hunt a bit.

You can get the basic gear for a few hundred new, don't be tempted by a used helmet would be my advice.
