Mauser Peruvian Modelo 1909 .308 Sporter and Scope
Export version of the Gew 98 Rifle that has been sporterized
This Is a original German Made Mauser made by waffenfabrik Mauser-oberndorf A/N for Peru.
Peru purchased approximately 50 thousand, and are rarely found in original or good condition. This rifle has been sporterized, but the rifle and the receiver especially are in very good condition. Sporterized versions were given as gifts in the Peruvian navy and sold to officers. I am unaware who sporterized this rifle as my dad purchased it in the 1960s when he was in his 20s he did a lot of traveling and was in the US Navy.
This rifle has the old-school look, because it is old but is still very functional (especially with the modern scope), I used It for Hunting this year, never getting a chance to bring anything down with it though.
It Up For Sale or Trade on a good Ar-15, good AR upper + cash(if you happen to have a extra upper laying around), or other modern tactical rifle.
Mauser is in .308 win. Has Peruvian Crest (was told it is rare to find a crest that hasn't been worn down or filed off after the revolution, the image of the crest and all the letters and numbers on the rifle are extremely sharp and clear), and reads Republica Del Peru Original Mauser. The rifle was my dad's, he kept it was packed in grease since the 60s.
I shot it a few times and decided to upgrade the scope to a leupold Vx II 4-12 AO, fine duplex, stoney point turrets, aluminum sun shades 2 sizes, and aluminum flip up caps, also a leupold illuminated bore sighter, Harris Bipod, 2 slings, vintage leather carry case, heavy duty aluminum lockable 2 gun case, and the weaver scope that was on it. Over 900 dollars in scope and accessories.
The flash of the camera catches a lot dust on it in the picture even though i just cleaned it.
I researched it and can't find or have seen any old sporters like it, It is One Of A Kind
Cash Price: 1900 w/Scopes,Ect. (possibly{i would have to really think hard on it})
Really want to trade, if i get another good rifle I will not be upset parting with it, I could always auction it on a collector site for a chance to get more money.
