Yes they are. Be sure to use a screen top so that you can see what you have trapped. You wouldn't want a possum or raccoon in the box when you reach in to retrieve your prize.

Try an electric fence. Wire about 6 inches off the ground, another about three feet up and then one around 5 feet high. Will handle deer and rabbits.....cheap to do. I just run an extension cord from an outside outlet to the transformer. I did a 2100 sq foot garden for @ $100 or so....including post and insulators. One tip- put a 5 gallon bucket over the transformer....keeps the rain off.

shoot them and impale the bodies on stakes to deter the rest of them from coming around
