Walmart: your new local gun store

the dude at the Newnan Walfart counter told me yesterday that they move at least 10 AR variants per week. More legit people with hi-cap, semi-auto rifles, the better, I say.

LOL there are good Wal-Mart's and then there are Democrat Wal-Mart's (Gun-free).
I went to Academy in Cumming yesterday and the kid there knew nothing about guns. The website said a Maxxus in Duck Blind camo was $1299 and they had one in the store which was Bottomland camo for $1399. I asked the difference in price and the kid said "that camo just costs more." I took that as my cue to leave. I then went to Dick's in Canton where the guy at the gun counter was informative and helpful and we talked shotguns for 30 minutes. Like P.T. Barnum said, " You pays your money and you takes your chances."

Walmart in north Macon has guns and I just noticed the ARs there too. Only Bushmasters in the cabinet. But they may have the good stuff in the back. They don't put the Remington 700s in the cabinet either, but they will go get them if you want to look. Don't know why. One in south Macon has the best ammo selection I've seen at one, but no guns. I probably wouldnt buy a gun from walmart though. Alot of them are actually the older models that companies keep open just for a walmart line. Remington does this with the 700s. Walmart only carries the ADL. Everyone else has the newer BDL with the better trigger and the trap door unloader. (Isn't that what started the whole "Remington Disaster" thing? And Remington discontinued the ADL?) Howard's Pawn will beat Walmart's price though. Even on new stuff. And they are a certified gun dealer with a knowledgable staff.

But you can't beat their ammo price on the 100 round Federal stuff. Just have to deal with the pain of getting someone to actually come open the cabinet. Usually, I have to have automotive page them a couple times before anyone comes. Anyone know the code to type in on the phones to call over the Walmart loud speaker? I'd just use that to page someone myself if I knew it. haha.

Lastly, what was that someone said about a 3 day waiting period? Where is that at? Georgia doesn't have a waiting period unless you are buying class 3.

This thread is almost 10 years old since the last reply LOL. Walmart quit selling AR's quite a well ago, so that their is no stock lol.
Kroger still does, though.
