Want to buy Ar-15

Yikes!!! But honestly that’s not a catastrophic issue with the rifle. I’m sure replacing the trigger fixed it right? If it fed and ejected as it should and didn’t blow up in your face a trigger needing to be replaced isn’t that bad. That’s almost up there with replacing a washed out barrel to me.

Yes, just dropping in a new trigger fixed it. But when you are at a range and go to squeeze off a round and get 15 rounds in full auto, it was alarming to say the least. haha

I have had 30 AR's since then and its just hard to get a bad one if you stick with name brands...

Now, if I knew I WAS going into battle and that I had only one gun to choose, would I pick a Daniel Defense or other rifle like that? Maybe a SCAR or a Tavor? Sure, why not...

But I am not going into battle. I just don't see that happening. If the SHTF and I could only have one long gun and one sidearm, it would probably be my Beretta M9A1 or Glock 17 for the pistol, and a 12ga pump shotty for a long gun... I can bring bird shot, buck shot, slugs and hunt, protect myself... Easy to clean, reliable...

That was my point. The other guy was giving what I felt was crappy advice.

He should have asked questions... what is the purpose of the gun? Does he have other primary weapons that this will just be a plinker or fun gun?

If someone made a thread looking for a 4 door sedan in the $8k-$10k range... and someone comes in and starts telling them can't possibly get a safe and decent car and they have to spend at least twice that... without knowing anything about the person, what their needs are, etc... My responses would have been the same...

Just saying the equivalent of "You need a 2016+ Mercedes C class minimum if you care about your life" would be silly and almost anyone would point that out...

Why does that change, because the topic is a firearm? LOL

I can always appreciate smart ass answers. I PMed the poster and offered to show him $500 ARs against $2000 ones. Did you? Just because you thought my advice was wrong, you decided to misrepresent what I said. So, it is probably sound advice and it bruised your ego because you didn't like what I posted.

The balance of your straw man argument is just your ego getting in the way. My advice to you is grow up. Don't misrepresent what people say. If you have an opinion, share it, but don't denigrate others while doing so.

Kid... the only one talking about ego, is you. People judge others with themselves as a reference point. That you think that this has anything to do with ego, says far more about you than it does I.

I didn't like what you posted because it came across as uninformed. Saying a blanket statement with none of the insight of his intent, due to you not even asking, was what earned you the response that you received.

I don't have a dog in this fight. My ego isn't part of the equation, I am sorry to say. You might want to take your own advice, but being self aware and introspective doesn't seem to be in your skill set.

I got flamed for a thread I did on this, but you get what you pay for. And only you know what your life is worth.

Maybe the fact that you already got flamed for your talk tracks on this subject, would have been an indication that doing it again might yield a similar result?

What's the definition of insanity again? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results?

Cheers.

Have you checked out how many posts you've made toward me? Since you never asked me any questions, you come across as uninformed. You are also egotistical because you are initiating a whizzing contest and I am asking you for a second time if you have a personal issue with me, take it to PM.

You don't have a dog in the fight? You started the fight when you made it personal. I can post my own opinions without attacking others. Why can't you? Do you think you have a monopoly on advice? You're the ODT police of what can and cannot be posted as opinion?

You've shown nothing but disrespect for me and your fellow posters. The fact that you won't take this to PM says more about you than I can do in 50 more paragraphs.

And you keep making posts toward me hoping for what? A different result? You'd be well advised to stop now and take your own advice.
