Want to get into IDPA

Hello everyone, I have been wanting to get into shooting IDPA but have no idea where to start. Anyone know of ranges that have matches on Sunday close to calhoun ga? My main gun is a CZ shadow 2 compact, is this acceptable? Last can you guys recommend some holsters and gear needed?

I shoot a S2c in ccp. Unsure of any matches around you. Cherokee in gainesville and Riverbend in dawsonville both have Sunday matches.
Any shadow 2 holster and mag pouches will fit. I use the bladetech single mag pouches

As mentioned River Bend and Cherokee are the 2 big outdoor gun clubs in north ga for matches. I'd also check any indoor range near you as a lot of them run IDPA matches or something similar. Montlake in Chattanooga also runs matches and is about as far as those others from you.

Shadow 2 Compact could be used in SSP, ESP, CCP or CO with a dot on it.

Pretty much any decent holster will work. I typically use a basic Bladetech or Comptac owb for IDPA or my actual carry appendix rig.

There was an IDPA match at Tactical guns and ammo in Calhoun last Sunday 4/6. They are planning on having them the first Sunday of each month. It's from 2pm - 6pm. We finished around 5pm. Im struggling to find the link on practi score. When I find the information on the next one I will post it.

I use my carry holster and a couple extra mag carrier. This last match was a lower round count so I only needed one spare mag for carry optics.

Big Woods Goods in Canton also hosts in your vicinity.
