"Legend" with Will Smith was a clone of the 1971 "Omega Man" based on the 1954 novel I Am Legend. "Soylent Green" was released in 1973, I remember seeing both in the theater when I was a kid.

Also... Charlton Heston stared in "The Planet of the Apes" in '69 and also had an uncredited role in the 2001 remake as Dr. Zaius.
