I inherited his badge today. Apparently he patrolled the Union / Fannin County area way back before any of us were born.

You never know . I inherited a bunch of boxes , inside was wedding pictures , marriage licenses , lots of pictures of my grandparents and great grandparents on my father’s side . From the 1900’s thru the 1930’s . I’m 75 , have had for 30 years . You never know . Documents from my 3 great grandparents in Virginia owning and bills of sale for slaves .

Wow sounds like you came from money. I guess when the reparations committee come thru , they will holler at you. Do you follow the bill of sale tradition when it comes to buying and selling guns too 😉

My Wife has 150yrs of family history. I work to preserve it. I don't have that kind of history myself. I don't think the new generation even cares
