Wax bullets & pistol primers - are they loud?

I'm going to make wax bullets using large pistol primers (no powder)to shoot in my garage for fun. Are they loud?

Not that loud just be sure to clean out all the wax before you shoot live loads

Better to buy the plastic bullets and use carpet as a back stop. No wax buildup and re-usable.

Also for better result drill out the flash hole but be sure to mark brass so you don't live load it

More fun with wheel guns loads will not run an auto

The Speer plastic ones are surprisingly loud!
I used some Magnum primers and got a little more "bang"
and a lot more velocity (enough to heavily dent a sheetrock wall!)

I've also heard of people make the projectiles out of hot glue ...

I spose itd work if you don't mind cycling the slide, but wheel guns would be funner

I read about drilling the flash hole so it's a little bigger. What does that do exactly?
