We’ve come full circle with washing machines

Front loaders suck ! Just bought third set in 12 years. The %ing bearings for the drum wear out and it costs as much to fix one as buy a new washer. BUT , the boss of the house has to have one , being only 5’0” in shoes , she gets her way .
Front loaders actually wash but I’ll never own one. Too many problems with door seals failing and brain boards constantly frying. Although Im pretty sure we’re stuck with the computer board problems across all models.

When my wife and I owned our B&B we purchased our first front load washer. Never had a single issue in the 4 years we owned it. We left it when we sold the B&B, bought a new front loader when we moved to GA. Used it for 7 years and didn’t have the first issue with it either. Clothes come out clean and nearly dry, so you don’t have to use as much electricity to dry them. We also had a steam dryer for touching up wrinkled clothes. It worked pretty well.

I’ll ditto this. We have a Bosch front loader set we bought in 2014 that does a helluva good job. Haven’t had any issues at all since new. Like others said though we have to leave the door open when not using so it can dry out good without smelling musty.

Do you have pets or kids?

We had our youngest daughter living with us in the B&B and in GA. We had only 4 guest rooms, but they were occupied 6 days a week for 9 months out of the year. Our machines got as much use a laundromat. We also had 2 dogs the entire time.

They do wash quite well ! Major thing with them is you have to leave the door cracked or they get a musty smell inside. Can’t keep the door closed or else it starts to smell .

I have a set of front load Neptunes I bought back in 2004 and they are still running like champs. Wash great and hold a lot more than top-loaders with the agitator.

I don't have a problem with the water, but then every other load I run usually has some bleach in it. If you never use bleach I could see it smelling if it sat too long since there's always some water in the bottom (at least on the Neptunes).
