We can all calm down now, none of us are catching ebola.

The title of this thread is about a silly as those people saying you WILL catch Ebola. What's funny is that this site is full of people who carry their weapon "just in case", but will scoff at the notion that they should at least keep an eye on what is going on with this Ebola scenario. Will you catch it? Highly unlikely in my opinion. Am I preparing now "just in case" it outpaces our ability to contain it? Damn straight.

VERY good point

Carrying a firearm in the highly unlikely event that you need it will provide the carrier with a benefit. Conversely, over reacting to ebola will not protect you from contracting it.

Ebola ruled out as passenger dies on Nigeria flight to JFK

Yep go on and keep debating just how hard it is to catch it. Instead of calling your reps and telling them to do the below. Meanwhile as winter progresses, it may or may not slowly spread around the country, people will continue to panic, overwhelm a healthcare system now almost destroyed, and the economy will collapse further.

But hey at least you'll be an expert on how hard it is to catch ebola, and you can impress all your friends and neighbors...

Influenza and Pneumonia killed 53,826 Americans last year. Ebola has killed: 0 Americans.

Where is all of the news coverage of flu patients and their travel patterns?

The flu is old hat, it need a new catchy name if it expects to gain any street cred back.

Suggestions for a new name for influenza?

When the flu and pneumonia start causing people to bleed to death out of their orifices, then it might be a fair comparison.

The reality of the situation and people panicking over a horrible death have nothing to do with each other.
