We got ‘til 1am on the HPA/SHORT Act🚨

There are already big differences.

aFarewellToKings aFarewellToKings Ken is correct. Major differences, which unfortunately includes NFA stuff. The fact that the Senate then has to vote again after the House on it is mind-boggling.
I'm confused. The house already has big changes to the senate version? I didn't think they had even seen it yet.

If the senate made changes and approved it, and then the house approves the same thing, the same version has been approved by the two houses. Why would the senate need to approve the same thing again?
It only goes back to the house because there were changes from what they already approved.

So, the Senate made big changes, which then go back to the House to approve and potentially make MORE changes (I hope that doesn't happen). My understanding is that, either way, the Senate has to do a final vote on it anyways before POTUS gets it. I know, bureaucracy.

Mrs_Esterhouse Mrs_Esterhouse mentioned that the House likely is getting an amendment done to it now to re-include the NFA $0 tax stamp since the Parliamentarian struck it down in the language that it had been in the bill (though my understanding is that the $0 tax stamp portion was amended in the Senate, but Esterhouse said this was not the case).

It’s all so confusing ! My simple 75 year old , future dementia mind can’t comprehend it all ! But the one thing I’m sure of is , NO UNELECTED PERSON SHOULD HAVE MORE POWER THAN THE HOUSE OR SENATE ! Trump needs to throw her ass out ! She’s a Democrat appointee !

Makes some pretty valid points. They did nothing to keep illegals from being on Medicare or the government supporting them . Senate to big of a rush . Let it set until after the 4th , not going to hurt a thing . Get rid of the Parlimentarian !

Just read where Mr Clyde put his amendment back in as it was before going to the Senate. Also read where they’re going to try to get it passed as it came back from the Senate tomorrow . Read there’s 20+ hard Republican NO’s against the Senate version.

I think we need another Civic episode of school house rocks.

I called the office of Andrew Clyde today took right at a minute I also let them know I had left the store and was a repeat customer. I just stated that I’m behind the big bill act and I support the hearing protection ac. Takes 1 minute of your time guys!

This is the language that was included in the bill that was passed by the Senate yesterday. For those who don't read legaleez, what it says is that the tax for transferring or making a suppressor, short-barreled rifle, or short-barreled shotgun is now $0. The $200 tax is still in place for machineguns and destructive devices.

SEC. 70436. REDUCTION OF TRANSFER AND MANUFACTURING TAXES FOR CERTAIN DEVICES.15
(a) TRANSFER TAX.—Section 5811(a) is amended to read as follows:
‘‘(a) RATE.—There shall be levied, collected, and paid on firearms transferred a tax at the rate of—
‘‘(1) $200 for each firearm transferred in the case of a machinegun or a destructive device, and
‘‘(2) $0 for any firearm transferred which is not described in paragraph (1).’’
(b) MAKING TAX.—Section 5821(a) is amended to read as follows:
464BAI25351 FR8 S.L.C.
‘‘(a) RATE.—There shall be levied, collected, and paid upon the making of a firearm a tax at the rate of—
‘‘(1) $200 for each firearm made in the case of a machinegun or a destructive device, and
‘‘(2) $0 for any firearm made which is not described in paragraph (1).’’
(c) CONFORMING AMENDMENT.—Section 4182(a) is amended by adding at the end the following: ‘‘For purposes of the preceding sentence, any firearm described in section 5811(a)(2) shall be deemed to be a firearm on
which the tax provided by section 5811 has been paid.’’
(d) EFFECTIVE DATE.—The amendments made by this section shall apply to calendar quarters beginning
more than 90 days after the date of the enactment of this Act
