HI ALL. I think I’ve hit the right pocket. I would like to start doing some medium range shooting. Anybody out there got a 223/5.56 bolt gun you’ve out grown? Looking for 223 in a dedicated action, SAKO, CZ, Kimber, etc. with a heavy barrel and 1-12 twist. Or possibly a 222 that can be rechambered to 223. Scope not necessary. It's not 800 yards but Elbert Co Gun Club has a 400 yard range.

I spoke to a guy Thursday who said Ft Benning has a 600 yard range that you can join some group to use. I don't know for sure but if you are looking, you might look into that.

in order to shoot at that range you have to be a member of the gun club and its $70.00 a year membership, i called last week

Ouch! Yeah the guy I spoke to mentioned being a member of something but wasn't sure what. Too rich for my blood, but then I can SEE 600 yards much less shoot it.
