I'd pick a DPMS for that cash in an instant. I found a A16 DPMS 5.56 during the panic for $699 at Bass Pro (out of all the places) and it was accurate and ran like an ape. I've put 1300-1500rds through it with only one ftf.

I thought they made a Carbin 15 with a metal upper and poly lower?? Could be wrong, but I remember seeing them somewhere??

Keep your eyes open whenever you go to Walmart. It was just a few weeks ago that he saw that one, so you might get lucky
I've got my Colt(pre ban SP-1) It is hard to compare most cheapie ARs to it, I don't even try. I have been looking for another AR that wouldn't be $1k but would be decent quality....basically for my wife to use if SHTF situation ever arises... But I don't think this is it. I will look more and get her one someday. I'm not spending money on a POS , even if it is a "deal" .
