1 dead after being hit by car at DeKalb Publix

One person is dead after being hit by a car at a grocery store in Hairston Crossing near Decatur.

According to DeKalb County police, one man was shot and another was struck by a car during the incident that happened around 8:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Lt. Antonio Catlin of DeKalb County Police said the man struck by a car was pronounced dead on the scene. Catlin was not sure whether the man had been shot before being struck.

The man who was shot was transported to a local medical center and is listed in serious condition.

Police said one man was shot and then hit by a car. He later died. Police are not sure if the cause of death was the gunshot wound or injuries suffered after being hit by a vehicle.

Another man was shot multiple times in the upper torso. He was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital and is recovering.
