I've seen the most chasing going on @ Nov. 7-14 the past few years. I started keeping a journal 5 years ago and every year this is when the bucks have been the most active in my area.
Around the third week in Nov is what I have always been told
If your planning a week vacation around it go for either the 7th-11th or the following week. Otherwise just stay in the woods every chance you get in November. I've had success during the pre-rut seeking/territory claiming phase.
