What did you neglect in your preps?

Probably too late now, but I've got one of those Ryobi hand-held air compressors and spare batteries in my car. Doesn't take up much room.
So far, only been used to top off tires when low pressure warning comes in on first cold days of winter, and blowing up everyone's floats at the lake. Hope that's all the use it ever gets.

Safe trip with mom.

I have that Ryobi, and it's already in the go bag. Good add!

I just hit the food bank in Tucker bought boxes of 30 yr food buckets. They had everything from Rice, Wheat, Spaghetti, Strawberries, Flour, Potatoes, Sugar and Macaroni and much more, all there can items are good for 30 yrs. will post more later after walking my dogs. Here is the location and hours of operation. If you need help shopping or loading your vehicle they have helpers to assist you. Any questions let me know.View attachment 7865080

Looks like I'm headed toward Milton.

My mom is in central FL. She's alone, and in the early stages of Alzheimer's. Her ability to make decisions, particularly under stress, has declined quite a bit, so I don't want her riding out a hurricane, even in a solid house with a backup generator.

Gonna go fetch her. Plan is to get there pre-dawn Tuesday, get her house secured, and be right back on the road, hopefully during a lull in evacuation traffic.

Gas is already short in Florida, but my SUV can go 500 miles without a fill-up. I'll top off along the way, and carry an extra 14 gallons with me in a caddy.

Here's my go list. Any additional ideas, please pipe up.

fuel (14 gallons)
small generator
case of water
non-perishable food
cooler with ice
change of clothes
first aid kit
rain jacket
work gloves
flashlights/camping lights
Ryobi batteries and inverter
phone charger and USB cable
laptop
tool kit
axe
crow bar
rope
vehicle tow strap
battery powered chainsaw, 3 batts, extra chain
handgun and spare ammo

Edited to add:

Hand winch
Jumper cables
Hand saw
I'd add a rifle and oil for your generator.

Are you saying they only sell 1 box per day? I was in there this morning and bought 9 boxes of stuff, my buy bought 20 boxes of food?

There are different locations throughout the state, I just found one close to me. Just put in Later day Saints Food Pantry , and put in your zip code good luck.
Looks like Tucker is the only one in GA. according to the website. May just have to take a day and make the trip.

NO!!! I'm only saying they allow only ONE box(case of 6 #10 cans), of one product per day...that's one product...they have many products.....Jesus...I'm not here to argue, only to let folks know what to expect....
Yes, you can walk/roll out with with a load of cases....as far as I know, it's only one case of each product....per visit
come on man...
am I wrong.....just letting the folks that may go there, know what to expect....It's possible that they could have changed since last year....
in years past you could not buy 2 cases(6#10 cans) of any one product...they allow only one
