What did you neglect in your preps?

The well is probably 100 yards from the house and the well is 482 feet deep. If I had to prime the pump I would be SOL!

I would be better off getting 125 yards of electrical cable and run from the generator(s) at the house out to the pump house, but I like your thinking!
You can run a hand pump to a small diameter fridge water line. Makes lifting the water colum easier. You might be able to hook a car battery to the pump leads in a pinch

Did not check my generator. Had been in storage for 2 years. Would not crank. Was stored properly and only use non ethanol fuel.
Same here. Two gens an both had carb issues from non use. Both had been stored full of non ethanol fuel with stabilizer. So much for that theory…luckily, I was able to pull the carbs, clean out the sludge and get both up and running. Gotta make a mental / physical note to check once a year at least.

there were differences in the appearance of the plastic case....slight, after going to the Baofeng site, I could see differences in the cases....radios at the REAL site were much more expensive.....OH!!! and now I remember...there were also differences in the battery....coming back to me now.....I would have to think that most anything on Amazon is a China copy....results may vary
Agreed.. bought a starter solenoid for my Kabota tractor from Amazon. It said Genuine Kabota Parts. First one would not work at all. Exchanged it and the replacement lasted bout two months.
Ordered one from the Kabota dealer. After getting the one directly from Kabota dealer and comparing them there were definitely some difference on the outside.
Later on I took the original apart and the one I got from Amazon. Big difference so it had to be a knockoff.

I found a few problems with my preps during this emergency.
We didn’t get hit hard, and I had plenty in my RV, but I’ve let my gasoline stash get low. Many areas close to me will have a week or more without power, and fuel stations are had if not impossible to find or get to before they run out.

I would have lasted 3 days at best.
They F'in TOLD YOU it was gonna hit Friday.....Fill up everything Thursday...duhhh
