What did you neglect in your preps?

I have several 'jerry cans' that I keep topped off as well as old milk jugs, storing as NONPOTABLE. The BOB looks interesting, but 100 gallons of water weighs 833 pounds +/-. Even the 5 gal. jerry can is over 40 pounds and I ain't thrilled about slinging that weight around at my age!

The Bob comes with a small hand pump to transfer the water to smaller containers.

I am lucky enough to have a basement that I can put a 115 gallon water barrel in. On top of that, I have enough water filters around to filter water for about 10 years if needed. Most certainly is something to keep on top of.

It was wake up call to get on it. I ordered several emergency water carriers a few minutes ago. I've got some filters but need more of those also

The 'experts' were calling for 8" to 10" of rain from Helene. We got 8.5". Most times it was a soft rain and was absorbed quite well. Only had standing water for less than a day.

We had a lot of rain, but our lot drains well. I was sitting in the dark a night or two after the hurricane and I heard a noise. I got my pistol and flashlight and went outside. The trash can got blown over into the front yard. A lone wind gust like two days after......

Sorry I had to do it. You definitely have to be careful with Amazon and OEM parts. Best thing to do is read through the reviews and see if anyone mentions knockoffs. I’ve been burnt on some Honda parts from them that said OEM but were cheap knockoffs

I don't really want to keep them in my garage, May build a pallet shack for them until I build my barn

I keep filled using a water stabilizer chemical, then rotate once a year. I usually wash the dog n cars with water so it doesn't waste myself.

Remember, everything but the squeal in the pig......

This is what I can't understand. My yard didn't even get really soggy. My house backs up to Army Corps Property that houses a lake that is fed by two creeks. The lake rose about two feet but nothing even came close to flooding. No water on the roads...nothing.

But then 20 minutes south of me in Buckhead, you had four to five foot tall walls of water coursing through neighborhoods.

I guess I just don't understand how things flood and why they do and don't. Same storm, same amount of rain. I suppose it's topography on some level. Peachtree Creek isn't even that big...how did it get that much water in it?

Are you talking about getting gasoline right before the storm? Because gasoline is really complicated to keep in storage for long period of time… it will go bad… Besides the safety issue.

Rotate it. Use it in your car or truck after six months, refill fuel jug.

Non ethanol in the fuel jug. No stabilizer needed as long as you rotate.
