What does the death rattle of an auto company sound like?

When I was a car salesman I had the privilege of driving just about every car made. When I drove the Jaguar I immediately concluded they were just a glorified Ford Taurus. No joke!
Turbo cars are great for a fun toy but dont expect them to go 200k miles. You can get 100hp out of a weed eater if you stuff enough boost into it but it's not going to last very long.
When I was at the Mitsubishi lot on 04/05 I saw a few S Type and X Type Jags come and go. Those were the ones I assumed were more Taurus than Jag. The X Type was pretty pathetic in every category. The S Type WAS at least a very attractive and I guess you could say traditional looking car. But as I recall both were sales and mechanical failures.
I'm nowhere close to a mechanic but that DEF mandate has to be some of the stupidest **** I ever heard.
Yeah and they don't need all the add on **** we have on trucks over here. The new truck ( hell even the used truck) market here is just plain insane. Four door trucks are now more common than regular cabs. So I guess most truck buyers these days are glad to give up the bed space for interior space. Personally when I'm using my old Hardbody extended cab I'm almost always by myself. If I could pick a truck right now I would try to find a clean early model Tundra reg cab long bed. Because that's what a truck is supposed to be.
Lately I'm seeing articles about the new Kia Tasman truck that is "SUPPOSED" to be coming to the U.S. But I read the same kinda **** about the new Toyota Hilux that was supposed to be a base model $10K truck. The two trucks looked pretty similar. Even if the Toyota sold for $15K it would be worth it. But I have a sneaky suspicion that Toyota decided that they didn't have any interest in selling the cheap trucks instead of the Tacoma and Tundra that cost WAY more. And being the current owner of a broke down Kia Soul I really don't have much faith left in them.
Turbo cushions top and bottom of the stroke, very easy on insides of engines.
However oil will breakdown faster, and and engine will run at a higher temperature and air intake is critical. So timely service is imperative, and lateness is more damaging.
I suspect that is where the reputation for failure come from.
Read a good article today speculating that Jag intended this ad to stir the pot. Their new EV is coming out Dec 2nd, and this was how they decided to get some buzz around it.
New EV...coming out in December...after the election.....their timing SUX!!!
