What does this bayonet fit?

It depends on the size of the barrel ring, that particular design bayonet has three rifle design possibilities that I know of 1. M1 Carbine, 2. AR15/M16, or 3. M14/M1A, you'll have to actually fit it to find out for sure as I said the size of the barrel ring and a possibility of some internal design difference in the lug fitting will make the difference as to the actual weapon it fits properly.

Thanks for clearing all that up!! lol!!

It was used on all three rifle design variations in Viet Nam..I left there in 1969 but I handled all three at some point in time while I was there.
The ring is bigger for the flash suppressor on the AR/M16 pattern for sure. They are not one size fits all.
Is that any better.

That's an M7 bayonette for an M16/A1. I'm not sure if they work on the A2's or not.
It should have a metal scabbard with a canvas strap and a metal snap and the metal wire (we used to call coathangers) to fasten it to a pistol belt.
Hardball
