In the past couple of days, it seems like there have been a ton of deer laying dead in the road around here. I usually see them when the bucks start chasing heavily, but most of these have been does. Anyone have any idea whats going on?

Pre rut has started, the deer move much more and bucks will move farther than normal to find a hot doe. Notice if there are antlers on more of them than usual.
When they start running, there are more frequent encounters with autos. Seems to happen every year about this time. I'm guessing that is what is happening if you see them along the road.
The rut gets does moving, too. They are being chased by the bucks and are more concerned about what's behind them than were they are going. CRUNCH! It looks like the rut will be very strong this year.
