What is the COOLEST .22 pistol out??

River MkII/III pistols are reliable, accurate, and stylish.

I love the Mark II. The stainless ones are my favorite!

-These are .22 pistols which are made of real metal and feel good. They are relatively durable and you can bang around without a lot of worry.

To me, they are the perfect compromise. I love the way a colt Woodsman shoots, but I will never spend $700 plus for one. I don't like cheap, lightweight "toy" .22 pistols like so many modern ones seem to be. So-the Mark II is right in the middle-a good quality, no fooling around shooter which is not really a collector's item, so you don't have to worry too much that it might get a scratch.

Ok...I'll play. I think all my .22s are cool.

Not sure about "the coolest" but if reliability is part of the criteria the S&W M&P .22 is the most reliable pistol I've ever used.

On our classes newer shooters use .22 pistols a lot to develop good fundamentals w/o the distraction of the heavier recoil & muzzleblast larger centerfire caliber have. Once they get comfortable they step up to the larger guns.

I've used Ruger Mk II's, 22/45's, conversion kits, & a few others.
The M&P's never malfunction... its amazing. When teaching new shooters we don't have time or need the distraction of having to continuously"tinker" w/ a gun to make it work.
Also the GSG 1911's seem to be pretty reliable although I've not had as much experience w/ them.

I picked up a Chiappa 1911-22 from an ODT member on trade recently. While it's not the coolest .22 pistol, I've shot maybe 50 rounds out of it so far and I really like it. I'm thinking about doing a custom paint job on it. It shoots straight, tight groups at 15 yards with no malfunctions or misfires so far. It hasn't even had enough rounds through it to be considered broken in.

This gun would be good for any kid or woman because of two factors. The recoil spring is not that strong, making the slide easy to work. The magazine spring is also not stiff. It is easy to load.
