What is this have and how do I get rid of?

If it’s in an area you don’t hang around I’d leave it.

IF not, get you a simple two gallon sprayer and put about 2 cups of regular lawnmower gas in it, wait till dark and pump spray it.

No need to light it, fumes will suffocate them.

It may take another dose the next night but it will work.

Wear some proper clothing and PPE, good luck!

Our yard maintenance guy found one in our Japanese Maple a few weeks ago while replacing the mulch in our front bed. We need to call a specialist. I'd forgotten about it until this thread.

White face or Bald face hornets are the least aggressive of the yellow jacket family and usually keep to themselves unless you disturb the nest then they attack i have been stung by them in the leg and arm like yellowjackets they sting multiple times one got stuck in my shirt and stung me 4 times through a thick sweat shirt - bacon (they love pre cooked hormel from the microwave) 99% pure boric acid or two brave souls with a hundred cans of long range instant wasp killer
this video is great for killing all the hornets in the neighborhood without killing honey bees
