Wait til winter or you can do it now at night and some sort of smoke in the hole(calms them dwn/sleeps) then place a garbage bag over the nest, cut the limb off, and keep it sealed for a long time, say til winter or next year they will all die. Now you have a very nice piece of art decor for the house.
Still have one in a bag down in my garage from about 5 years ago. :becky:

Mind you fellas...this is in the front yard, in a subdivision, with kids playing all over the streets. It is at my kid's house where he noticed it while mowing the lawn and after looking into them online, was totally shocked he did not get stung mowing so close to the tree. But the houses are probably within 25-45 feet from this tree.

That being the case, hire a pro to remove it.

I had one on the eve/overhang of my second floor. Watched some videos, ordered an inexpensive foam cannon like you use to wash cars. Sprayed it from a ladder from about 20 feet away and next day it had fallen on a lower roof and was mostly disintegrated. Soap killed wasps and hornets some how. Now I use the foam cannon to wash my big truck. Good luck.
