What is this sniper accessory called???

I keep seeing these side offset picatinny mounts on Remington 700s, and I want to know what they are called and what purpose they serve. Anyone know? Thanks in advance!

Looks like a pri step down rail with side rails mounted. Used for clip-on NV up top, laser RF, IR, etc, mounted on the side rails.

Cloners buy them nowadays for m24 builds. This used to be the best way to mount an nvco, but with a plethora of much better stock and chassis options, no real need for the rail today.

McCann MIRS Rail on a REM M24?

Any body ever use one. I was wandering if this would be a good upgrade for a M24. I noticed that the MIRS might be kinda on th high side for how low th comb is on the M24 stock.I will probly never use a night optic, but you never know. Could i see some pics. Feel free to post them. Thanks

Ok makes sense, more of a military IR or NV typa deal. I remember seeing one on Chris’s Kyles 338 in his book come to think of it. Well as cool as that is, I don’t think I will not be putting one on my civilian R700 that I shoot once a year maybe someday I’ll be a spec op boi
