What Is Up With Folks Stealing Crab Legs?

Yeah, a security guard at an ASSI supermarket said people stealing seafood was a problem. Said they would load a shopping cart with several hundred dollars worth and try to just walk out the door with it.

I have a friend whose wife works at the local Publix seafood counter. Apparently their policy is not to confront people thieving from the store. On average they lose about $3000 a month to theft of seafood. They caught one heavy set lady on video in a handicap scooter loading the basket with crab meat, oysters and anything else she could grab. She drove the scooter right out the front door.
