What model S&W is this? Identify please

Read the posts. I told the OP where to look for the model number. I posted a pic with a red arrow showing exactly where the model number is. The OP replied back and stated that it was in fact a 4006, because he has the gun in hand and can CLEARLY read the model number posted where I told him it was.

And why look up features when you can just tell the OP to read what S&W clearly stamped on the side of the gun that he has in his possession.

I had one when they first came out in the 1990’s. Purchased new and I hated it. Not reliable and stovepipe all of the time. Heavy gun and controlled recoil ok when it worked. Ended up selling it pretty quick. DK if they improved them over time but i don’t see them around much.
