what you know about an HK USP?

Yes, if one were to keep a new USP for 20 years then the cost difference would be negligible. For my part I just don't feel the USP is really $300-400 more than a CZ75, P01/6, or possibly even a P09. I'm not saying someone else shouldn't buy one but they aren't worth it to me. For $500 though I would likely buy it over a CZ. There is always the snob value...

I love CZ, but fit and finish on HK is hands down better. I'm not saying there is much if any difference in function, but you aren't just paying for engraving.

Eh, you're likely right. Maybe I'm just too much of a newb or whatever but unless a gun is just obviously terribly finished I don't put too much stock into it. CZs have a fit and finish that is more than acceptable to me for a service gun. I carry my guns and if it is going to get beat up anyway I don't much care of the slide on an HK has a deeper hue to its finish than a CZ slide. I'd be lying if a gun's looks didn't partially influence my purchases but I am far more concerned with function. If I didn't hate how they feel so much I'd buy Glocks, if HKs were more reasonably priced I'd buy them. To me CZs are a nice happy medium. But I/we digress from the OPs original intent and I apoligize

Tooling marks are readily visible on CZ, not so on an HK. I just like knowing that there was a little extra care and pride when creating and assembling the gun. Is that worth money? Hell I don't know.

At $500, you did good. I had a Compact USP40 and an OD framed USP9c. They are fantastic pistols and selling the OD framed gun is probably my biggest regret when it comes to selling a gun.

the tooling marks on the inside are a real non-issue

cz took extra pride in their work when they created such a damn fine and tight weapon

Pay attention to the polymer on the slide tabs.

They have been known to keep the action open between rounds during break in which keep the action from closing all the way.

It's a simple fix with some nail clippers and a small file.

This happened to my USP after a couple hundred rounds.
