Whats everybody prepping for?

I prep for one hell of a nice hunting camp with all the bells and whistles...I Love Guns! Guns & ammo are great investments! Extra food, medicine, fuel, off the grid / primitive power alternatives will not go to waste but be used in our hunting lodge one day! Heck I'm even building a old school surburban to be used for hunting or plowing through traffic! One way or another if TSHTF, I will escape this ATL jungle to our place in central Ga. !!!

Because as any former 2nd CAV Trooper will tell you....TOJOURS PRET!!!!!!! (Always Ready!) I am not going crazy about it, but I am doing some things to decrease any reliance on "The Government Family" (as Obama put it) just in case of....

-Any natural (or man-made) disaster where law enforcement is tied up for several days to several weeks... we've seen this with just about every major flood, hurricane, tornado etc.

-Electonic monetary exchange sytem failure....got a taste of this when the local krogers could not process credit cards and debit cards for a day. They were cash only. With increasing use of satellites transmissions for monetary transactions what would have happened if we had a serious crash of the system at ALL stores. How much cash do you have on hand for something like that. There is a reason the Chinese are aggressively pusuiting anti-satellite technology and space warfare capabilities.

-Our ability to buy food and fuel is tenuous and very fragile if you think about it. Computer systems control everything. The STUXNET virus was supposedley jointly developed by the Americans and Israeli's. Whoever did it it caused major problems for Iran's nuclear program, and was very successful industrial sabotage strike that left virtually no fingerprints. Do you think it couldn't happen elsewhere to other less secure commercial and industrial bases?? Like the old sayin' goes....Roll your dice and take your chances.....I'm hedging on not being the ones crying in front of the TV news camera about "Where's the goverment-where's FEMA??? Where's the Red Cross???"

What concerns me is OIL.

We need it. A whole lot of it. Our entire society is based around a certain level of supply. If that supply is disrupted (fall of Saudi monarchy, or large war in Middle East,) we will be in big trouble-fast.

Hopefully, this won't come to pass in our lifetimes, but we are in a precarious situation. Never before has so much of civilization depended on any commodity where demand is constantly so close to outstripping supply.

-I don't take "prepping" to any extreme, but I do think it is wise to put back some supplies.

And oil crisis seems like the most likely scenario to me.

im not going to lie, lately iv been prepping for the election. i remember last time, i worked at bass pro and still couldnt get ammo. iv been stocking up not for anything bad but if we have another 2 years or so of the ammo dried up, ill still have my supply. otherwise im just prepping for anything. i do have a 72 hour bag. not necessarily a bug out bag but just something to get me through a few days in my car. i am starting to try and stockpile some food and all just in case but just got into the food aspect.

Another one of these threads? Either prepare or don't...it's that simple. If you don't like to be prepared for a JUST IN CASE situation, then don't. You can stand in the soup line with everyone else who didn't prepare.
