Whats your favorite American muscle car?

Lot's of nice cars listed here...no doubt about that. However, strictly speaking, all the cars listed don't meet the definition of "muscle car". The original term was used to describe cars when manufacturers stuffed a larger engine into a lighter standard production sedan. Arguably, the first muscle car was the '64 GTO when GM put a larger engine into a mid-sized Pontiac Tempest. Corvettes, Vipers, and Cobras are all sweet cars; but they aren't muscle cars.

I think that original definition of stuffing a big engine in a little sedan went away in '67 or '68...

All right, that's a winner for me. Mine was a '71 351c Mach 1 in red with black. Took a curve like a horse drawn wagon but a terror red light to red light.

Yes Sir! All of ours handled the same way, We had to call some buddies a few times to get us out of the ditch. You know what they say, "the machine usually out performs the driver" The 351C makes a real nasty sound, when it's "hitting a Lick" oh! boy ! I'm getting cold chills! those were the days.

No pictures , but a 67 Biscayne , 427 , 4 speed with 411 gears (all factory) bench seat and NO sound proofing what so ever. It would really surprise you for a full size car. Tuned right it with slicks it would almost break the 11's. (ahh the good old days when one could over them the way ya wanted) This thing had NOTHING but motor , trans and rear end. Not even a heater. I was 10 when it was ordered , but I ended up with it, and wish I had kept it.

Honestly this is my all time favorite car. The 85-90 Camaro IROC-Z. Ive owned quite a few of them and I know every nut bolt and screw in that car. Its so hard to find them in nice condition though...
