When did this happen??!!

Just going to wire up a bunch of old motorcycle batteries I have laying around, in parallel, next time I need a car battery. If they’ve really gone to ****, might move to series. I don’t even know what I’m talking about so this will be me I’m sure

And instead of a $200 battery I’ll have under hood metal fused abstract art and a $10k hospital bill.

Worth it.

Wait till you need tires….GDMF.. had to put a set on my wife’s 17’ Explorer. When did a good set of rubber start costing 1800.00? Last set I bought was for my FJ and they were BFG’s and I nearly passed out when they said 1050.00$ .. Bidenomics and Covid

2017 FIAT 124 tires all 4 and I was at $500 from The Tire Rack. Plus 20 bucks each to install, and disposal of my old tires. I think they were 205/45 17 size. I'll need new tires on my Tacoma in 10k miles, not looking forward to that bill.

So, car battery went 100% completely out, died dead done.. 😂 right after the heating element in my dryer quit working as well.. now, the real only problem is when in the hell did a car battery cost over $250/$300 ?? Has it been really that long since Ive had to replace one...damn.. 😂
Rich ppl. problems. You drive a 2025 car...you pay 2025 prices.

79.95 for the battery in my Silverado.

Yeah I am in that boat right now. Last set I bought was a set of Mastercraft made by Cooper and they were 89 bucks a piece. Now the same tires are over 150 bucks per tire. That's not even off road tires just a set of regular old all season radials. The good ones are 200 bucks per tire and the off road jobs are 300-500 bucks per tire and that's just a set of 265/ 70R 17. I can't imagine having to buy 19-20 inch tires.
I was going to put set of wheels and tires on for a little spice to spruce up the look but after I priced then out I just decided to stick with the OEM jobs. They are already chrome but the alloy rims that look half way decent are insane.
I really miss Peo Boys when it comes to tires. When I worked there in 90 they had more tires to pick from than most tire shops and they were almost always on sale. Can't remember the name of the store brand tires but they were made by Kelly and very popular at the time.
Unfortunately Pep Boys had one location in South Macon right beside I75 and the hood. It's been closed now for at least five years. They actually looked at space to build a store in Warner Robins right after opening in Macon but didn't follow through. They would probably still be open if they had.

$20.00 each is decent for mounting and balancing. A while back I bought a Dextero (Walmart) tire and they wouldn't install it because I supposedly had a bad TPMS unit on that wheel. So what? I called the local Tires Plus and some hateful sounding bitch answered. I told her I needed a 15" tire mounted on a steel Kia wheel. Before I got done telling her what I needed she just blurted out "$100.00 and we can't get to it until tomorrow."
So I said "Really? You're gonna charge me a HUNDRED ****in dollars to mount a $48.00 tire on a plain steel wheel!? Just say you don't want to do it and be done with it." I swear these days EVERYONE remotely involved with vehicles is out to break it off in you for every single little thing. And that starts on the sales floor at the lot ,moves through the damn finance office and eventually back to the service writer. Between the head service writer and the F&I man they make plain old salesmen look like choir boys. But now all the mechanics and maintenance shops are just as bad.

Pep boys robbed me of a job back in early 90s. I was the assistant manager of Flag Auto Parts right there beside Mexico Lindo on Austell Road. We were super busy all the time and then pep boys moved in and our business dried up to nothing. I went to that Pep Boys a year or two later and the owner of the flag Auto Parts was working behind the counter at Pep Boys.

Tire rack has some pretty good prices on tires and the shipping I believe is free and they ship them to your front door. Still the prices of the tires have gone up so much it's almost insane. I remember paying $69 a piece for BF Goodrich radial TA's I bought for my barracuda " CUDA 360 " back in 1989 I believe. Now most of your decent brand tires are 200 bucks a piece for just a basic All season radial. If you're looking at off-road or light truck tires you can forget about it it's going to be over $1,000 anyway you slice it. I'm in that boat right now. I'm going to have to Shell out for a pair of tires in the next month or so and I'm dreading that.

Luckily I got a place near me that’s $100-120 for a new 3yr warranty on batteries. Autozone, oriellys and such $200+. Crazy.
On another note. I do have a couple of vehicles w/300k that I would let go for under $3k. They are Toyotas. So no low balling. You cheap fuks
We of the POORS, you one of the RICHIES?🫣

Labor and parts these days is asinine. Everything is computerized compatible sensors and all that nonsense. No more replacing parts and hoping you picked the right one. Just to have one hooked up to the diagnostic analyzer and tell you what is wrong is 100 bucks. They don't even fix it, they say your car is broken and it will cost another 500 plus the diagnostic fee.
